Why a fixed address helps

Banks and online accounts watch where you sign in from. Log in from Lisbon on Monday and Bangkok on Friday, and you can get fraud alerts, frozen cards or a locked account. With IDNI you sign in from the same private address in your home country every time.

A VPN address

Comes from a big data center, a warehouse full of servers shared by thousands of VPN users. Websites keep lists of these and can spot them easily.

Often flagged as a VPN.

An IDNI private address

Your own private address in your home country, not shared with thousands of VPN users. Your bank sees the same familiar place every time you sign in.

Looks like a normal sign-in.

Choose from 74 countries.

Get your own private internet address in 74 countries, then use it from anywhere in the world.

Get my private address in the United States

Standard from $10/month, Premium (faster) from $15/month. In the US you get a clean, steady US address. In other countries you can pick a city on the next page if you like.

How it works

  1. Pick your country and plan

Choose your home country and one simple plan. In the US you get a clean, steady US address; it doesn't need to match your city, since websites only see a rough area.

  2. Get your private address

We email you your personal address and login details. It stays the same every day.

  3. Connect your device

Follow our step-by-step guide for your laptop, phone or browser. Copy, paste, done.

Unlike many other proxy providers, we make our own free browser extension, so connecting takes one click, with no settings to copy. It works in Chrome and Edge. For other devices and apps, our setup guides walk you through it.

Coming soonIDNI Connect for Windows. Send all your apps, like Teams, Outlook and Zoom, or your whole computer, through your IDNI private address, not just Chrome. Free for IDNI customers. You don't have to wait: the free IDNI Proxy Service Chrome extension covers your browser today, and our setup guides show you how to use your private address in Windows settings and other apps.

What people use it for

Fewer lockouts and fraud alerts

Fewer "suspicious sign-in" emails, frozen cards and surprise lockouts because you signed in from a new country. You connect from the same private address every time.

Banking keeps working

Your bank back home sees a familiar address in your country, not a foreign one or a VPN.

Home prices when you shop

Some shopping and travel sites change prices or options by country. See your home country's version of the site, just like you would at home.

Public Wi-Fi: what IDNI does and doesn’t do

IDNI hides where you are by giving you a private address. It is not full encryption like a VPN. Most websites already protect your data with HTTPS (the padlock), but on untrusted public Wi-Fi, stick to padlocked sites.

How IDNI compares

Feature Regular internet abroad VPN IDNI private address
An address in your home country (US, UK, Canada & 70+ more) No Yes Yes
One fixed address your IT team can add to its trusted list Changes as you move Shared, changes often Yours alone, never changes
Same address every day Changes with every café & country Usually shared & changing Yours, every day
Easy setup Nothing to do Install an app Simple guides, ~5 minutes
Encrypts all your traffic No Yes No (websites' own HTTPS still applies)

We'd rather be honest: if you need full encryption, a VPN does that. If you need a steady address back home, that's what IDNI is built for.

FAQ

Does IDNI work with Microsoft 365, Outlook and Teams?

Yes. Once your computer is connected, Outlook, Teams and the other Microsoft 365 apps sign in through your IDNI address like any other connection, and they see the same place every day because the address never changes. Use our free extension for the browser, and our setup guides for Windows settings and desktop apps.

What is a proxy, in plain terms?

Every device on the internet has an address (called an IP address) that tells websites roughly where you are. A proxy is a middleman: your internet traffic goes through it, so websites see its address instead of yours. With IDNI, that middleman is your own private address in your home country that isn't shared, so websites see an address there.

Is this legal?

Yes. Using a proxy is legal in most countries, and lots of people and businesses use them every day. You're still responsible for following the rules of the websites you use, the laws where you are, and your employer's remote-work policy. We're here to help you keep your connection to home, not to help anyone break rules.

Do I need to be technical?

No. If you can copy and paste, you can set this up. We give you plain-English, step-by-step guides for every device, and real humans can help if you get stuck.

Which devices does it work on?

Windows and Mac computers, iPhone and Android phones, and browsers like Chrome, Firefox and Edge. One thing to know: unlike a VPN app, a proxy is usually set up per device or per browser. Our setup guides walk you through each one, from a simple browser extension to a travel router that covers every device.

Will it slow down my internet?

A little, sometimes. Your traffic takes a detour through your home country, so things may feel slightly slower, especially if you're far away (say, in Asia with a US or UK address). For email, work apps, browsing and banking, most people won't notice. Very heavy use, like large downloads, may be affected by distance.

How is this different from a VPN?

A VPN encrypts your traffic and sends it through a data center, and those data-center addresses are easy for websites to spot and block. IDNI gives you your own private address that isn't shared with anyone else. It doesn't encrypt everything like a VPN does, but it's much less likely to get blocked.

What is a static proxy, and why use one for remote work?

A static proxy is a private internet address in your country that you can route your browsing through. "Static" means it stays the same every day. That matters when you travel: banks, card fraud checks and online accounts tend to trust a steady, familiar address and get suspicious of addresses that jump between countries or belong to data centers.

Can I use IDNI for work while I'm abroad?

Only if your employer allows you to work from abroad, so check your remote-work policy first. If they do, a fixed address can make things simpler: you can give your IT team that one address and ask them to add it to their trusted locations. We can't change your company's security settings. If IT requires a specific setup, such as the company VPN, use that.

Can I get my private IP address on my phone?

Yes. iPhone and Android both let you add a proxy to your Wi-Fi settings, and our guides show you where. On mobile data, a proxy app may be needed; we'll point you to simple options.

Should I tell my employer where I'm working from?

Yes. IDNI isn't a way to hide your location from an employer. Working from another country can affect taxes, data rules and your contract. Tell your employer and follow their remote-work policy. If they approve, a fixed address is easy for IT to recognise.

Which countries can I choose?

74 countries right now, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Brazil, Japan and Mexico. The price is the same everywhere. See the full list.

Can I get a UK or Canadian IP address while I'm abroad?

Yes. Pick the United Kingdom or Canada when you order and you get a private internet address there that you can use from anywhere. The same goes for Australia, Germany and every other country on the list.

Can I pick where my address is?

You choose the country. In the US you get a clean, steady US address: there's no state or city to pick, and location databases usually show US addresses around a big hub such as New York or Dallas. In other countries you can also pick a city if you like. Or leave it on “Any” and we'll pick a good address for you. Your picks are a preference, not a guarantee: if no addresses are free there at the moment, we'll assign the next closest available location.

Does it have to be my exact city?

No. Websites only see a rough area, and for most apps the country is what counts. In the US you get a clean, steady US address (location databases usually show a big hub such as New York or Dallas). In other countries, a city near home is a nice extra, not a must.

What's the difference between Private Address and Premium?

Private Address is the everyday plan: your own private address that stays the same, at about 100 Mb/s — plenty for email, browsing, banking and most work apps. Private Address Premium is the premium option for heavier days (video calls, work VPNs, bigger syncs). Whenever we can, Premium is a never-used private address — brand new, nobody has browsed through it before. If a never-used address isn't available in the country you pick (that happens sometimes), you still get a dedicated address that's only yours, with a higher speed lane (~300 Mb/s) and more room for several devices or apps at once. Setup and the country picker are the same either way.

What does a "never used" address mean?

Most private addresses are dedicated to you, but they may have been used by someone else in the past — the way a house gets a new resident. A never-used address is brand new: nobody has browsed through it before. That can help if a site is picky about address history. Private Address Premium prefers a never-used address whenever stock allows. If none are free in your country right now, Premium still gives you a dedicated address with higher speed (~300 Mb/s) and more simultaneous connections, so you stay on the premium plan either way.

What is "concurrency"?

Concurrency is how many things can use your private address at the same time — think of it as how many doors can be open at once. The everyday allowance (about 100) is plenty for a person with a laptop, phone and a couple of apps. It does not make the connection faster by itself. When Premium can't assign a never-used address and uses a dedicated one instead, we also raise the door count (about 300) along with the higher speed, so several devices or apps can share the address more comfortably.

How much does it cost, and can I cancel?

$10 per month for Private Address, or $15 per month for Private Address Premium (the faster lane). No setup fee. Prepay and save: Standard is $50 for 6 months ($8.33/mo) or $100 for a year ($8.33/mo); Premium is $75 for 6 months ($12.50/mo) or $150 for a year ($12.50/mo). Cancel anytime from your account, and your address simply stops at the end of the period you've paid for.

Is a static proxy safe on public Wi-Fi?

IDNI changes where you appear to be, not how your data is encrypted. Most websites already use HTTPS (the padlock), which protects what you send. On untrusted Wi-Fi, stick to padlocked sites, or use a VPN alongside IDNI for extra privacy.
